About this policy

TinyImage is an Android image-compression and editing app provided by xiaofeidev (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to TinyImage, package com.github.xiaofeidev.compressimage, and this privacy-policy website.

We explain both the information handled by the app on your device and information processed by the third-party services it uses. The availability of advertising and Pro purchases can vary by app version and service availability.

02 / YOUR FILES

Images and permissions

TinyImage reads images you allow it to access so that you can select, compress, crop, rotate, flip, resize, convert, save or share them. The image picker reads permitted thumbnails and album information from Android's media library. Depending on your Android version and choices, access may cover selected photos or the permitted photo library.

Selected images are copied into private app storage for processing and, when needed, batch-task recovery. Processing takes place on your device; TinyImage does not send your image contents to a developer-operated server or a cloud image-processing service.

The app handles file information such as file names, content references, formats, dimensions, sizes and image metadata to perform these operations. Recent-export records and batch-task information are stored locally so you can find results and resume work.

Storage permissions on older Android versions enable image access and saving. A folder you select through Android's document picker can remain accessible until you revoke that access. Notification and foreground-service capabilities support the progress and completion of longer batch jobs; they do not turn image processing into a cloud service.

03 / METADATA

Information inside an image

Images can contain metadata such as camera details, capture time and embedded location. Keep metadata is the default setting. Metadata supported by the output format may therefore remain in an exported image, including location information when it is present and available to the app.

In Settings → Privacy & metadata → Metadata, you can choose Remove location or Remove all metadata for subsequent processing. These choices apply to the output; they do not erase information from your original image or files you already shared. TinyImage does not request your device's live location to process an image.

04 / THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Advertising, analytics and diagnostics

Local image processing does not mean that the entire app operates without data collection. TinyImage integrates the following Google services, separately from the image-processing pipeline.

Google AdMob and advertising choices

When advertising is enabled in your version, Google Mobile Ads may process your IP address (including approximate location inferred from it), advertising or app-set identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information. Google uses this information to deliver and measure ads, operate its services and prevent fraud. Where applicable, identifiers associated with accounts signed in on the device may also be processed.

TinyImage uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request advertising consent information and display a consent form when required. Ad requests are gated by the consent status reported by UMP. Where Google requires a privacy-options entry, Settings → Privacy & metadata → Ad privacy options lets you revisit your choices. Availability depends on your region and consent status.

Google Analytics for Firebase

We use Analytics to understand app usage and the status of Pro access. It can process app-instance and advertising identifiers, app sessions and screen events, device/app information, approximate location derived from IP addresses, and purchase events. TinyImage also reports a limited Pro-entitlement status event.

Analytics is enabled at app startup when Firebase is configured and available. It is not presented as an optional diagnostic toggle in the current app. See Google Analytics data disclosure.

Firebase Crashlytics

Crashlytics helps us investigate crashes and service failures. Reports can include stack traces, device and app state, installation/session identifiers, and technical logs. TinyImage adds app-version and Pro-entitlement information and reports certain advertising and billing errors. We do not intentionally attach your images to these reports.

Crashlytics is also enabled at startup when Firebase is available. See Firebase Crashlytics data disclosure.

Firebase Remote Config

Remote Config retrieves operational settings, such as advertising frequency limits. It can process installation identifiers and app/device attributes such as app and OS versions, country, language and time zone. Related Firebase installation and session components support these services. Remote Config does not upload your images.

05 / TINYIMAGE PRO

Purchases through Google Play

Where available, Pro purchases are handled by Google Play Billing. The app receives information such as product details, purchase status and purchase tokens to acknowledge purchases, provide Pro access and restore that access. It stores entitlement and purchase-recovery information locally. Google processes payment details; TinyImage does not receive your complete payment-card details.

When Pro access is active, TinyImage suppresses ads. This does not automatically disable Analytics, Crashlytics or Remote Config. Google Play retains its own transaction records under its policies. See the Google Privacy Policy.

06 / SHARING & BACKUP

When information can leave your device

If you choose to share a result, Android passes the selected file to the app you choose, using temporary file access where appropriate. That app's privacy practices apply. Saving to a cloud-backed document provider, or using a gallery that syncs photos, may also transfer a file through that provider.

Android backup and device transfer may include eligible app data, such as settings, history and purchase-state information, depending on your device settings. TinyImage's working image copies use cache or no-backup storage, and its private processed-image directory is excluded from app backup. Separately saved files are subject to your gallery, storage provider and backup choices.

The Google services described above process their associated technical data. If you contact us by email, your address, message and any attachments you choose to send are processed to respond to your request. Please avoid sending private images or other sensitive information unless it is needed for your enquiry.

07 / RETENTION

How long information is kept

Originals and exported files

Your originals remain under your control. Saved results remain in the chosen storage location until you or the storage provider remove them. Clearing TinyImage's data or uninstalling it does not delete files already exported to shared storage or another provider.

Temporary processing files

Files no longer needed by a processing session can be released. Private files belonging to finished batch jobs are normally eligible for cleanup after seven days; cancelled-job files after one hour. Unreferenced, shared and archive-staging files are generally eligible after about 24 hours. Active work is protected. Cleanup depends on Android scheduling and successful maintenance, so these are eligibility periods, not exact deletion deadlines.

Local records and preferences

Recent-export and task records, settings, advertising-frequency records and purchase-recovery state can remain in app storage. Android's Clear storage function or uninstalling removes local app data; backups and external files are managed separately.

Service data and correspondence

Google service data follows the applicable service's retention settings and policies, including Firebase's retention information. Removing the app does not itself delete data already held by Google. We keep correspondence as needed to handle your request and applicable obligations; you can contact us to request its deletion.

TinyImage does not provide a TinyImage account, so there is no separate TinyImage account to close.

08 / YOUR CHOICES

Managing your privacy

• Photo and folder access. Change TinyImage's permissions in Android settings, or change the output folder in TinyImage. Some operations will not work without the access they need.
• Image metadata. Choose whether to keep metadata, remove location or remove all metadata before producing new outputs.
• Advertising. Use Ad privacy options when shown. You can also manage your advertising ID through the controls available on your Android device.
• Local data. Delete exported images with your gallery or file manager, and clear the app's storage in Android settings to remove its local records.
• Analytics and diagnostics. The current app has no separate in-app switch to disable Analytics or Crashlytics. Advertising consent choices and a Pro purchase do not act as an analytics opt-out.
• Privacy requests. Email us about access, correction, deletion or other rights available under applicable law. We may need enough information to locate the relevant record. For data controlled by Google or another provider, its privacy controls and request channels also apply.

09 / SECURITY

Security and international processing

TinyImage uses Android's app-private storage for working data and controlled file access for sharing. Google documents encrypted transmission for the SDK services described here. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security; your device, backup settings and sharing choices also affect protection.

Google may process service data on infrastructure outside your country. Its privacy and service terms explain the safeguards and processing locations. See Firebase privacy and security and the Google Privacy Policy.

10 / AGE GROUP

Children's privacy

TinyImage is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information to us. If you believe a child has provided personal information through TinyImage or a support request, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

11 / THIS WEBSITE

A static policy page

This website does not add advertising, analytics scripts, cookies, browser-storage tracking or submission forms. It uses local styles and system fonts. Following an external link takes you to a site governed by that site's own policy.

The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting. Google processes incoming IP addresses and technical request information to serve and protect the site and measure service usage. The absence of tracking scripts does not mean the hosting service receives no technical information. See Firebase Hosting privacy information.
